Cartagena de Indias · Colombia
Colonial architecture, personal history
Casa Gil Art Boutique is a 4,742-square-foot colonial villa in Cartagena’s historic Walled City. There is more to the house than its principal living room. Two dining spaces, private bedrooms, an interior balcony, a pool area and a rooftop extend the domestic setting well beyond the walls hung with paintings.
The collection gives this luxury villa a personal distinction. Every painting belongs to the Gil family and was made by Eladio Gil Zambrana or Fini Piñero de Gil. The art is part of the property’s identity, encountered in rooms that have other purposes, too.
SAIRS Axis, based in Miami & South Florida, documented Casa Gil through architectural photography and interior design photography. This international production presents the house as a residence first: its spaces, its proportions, its materials and the relationship between art and everyday surroundings.
From rooms for company to space of one’s own
A pause by the pool
The pool area adds another setting for daily life. Alongside the dining rooms and rooftop, it gives Casa Gil places to spend time beyond the bedrooms—a fuller picture of the villa than a count of rooms alone.
The private Gil family collection
Two painters, one family collection
All the paintings in Casa Gil are by Eladio Gil Zambrana and Fini Piñero de Gil. Kept as a private family collection, they carry the history of Spanish immigrants whose lives and work became part of Cartagena.
Eladio’s work also belongs to the city beyond these rooms. His India Catalina monument, inaugurated in 1974, has a place in Cartagena’s public landscape.2 The paintings at Casa Gil bring that artistic legacy into a different setting: art encountered at the scale of a home.
Fini’s paintings are part of this inheritance in their own right. Together, the two artists’ works give the interiors a provenance that a decorative scheme alone could not supply. Their presence matters to the architecture, too: the rooms hold a collection with a family history, not an anonymous arrangement of objects.
Above the old city
On the rooftop, the setting changes once more. The interior world of rooms and paintings gives way to the air above Cartagena’s historic center.

Architectural & interior photography
SAIRS Axis produced the architectural photography and interior design photography for Casa Gil Art Boutique. The assignment documents the property’s shared interiors, private rooms, family art collection and open-air spaces through a deliberately editorial sequence.
Luxury real estate photography has to do more than show how much a house contains. It needs to communicate what makes that property distinct: the scale of its rooms, the character of its interiors, the details that define it and the way one space transitions into the next.
Based in Miami & South Florida, SAIRS Axis creates property photography for architects, interior designers, real estate professionals and owners across Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach. Casa Gil is the team’s international, on-location production in Cartagena, Colombia.

Editorial notes & sources
Property area and the attribution of all paintings to Eladio Gil Zambrana and Fini Piñero de Gil were provided by the Gil family. Photography and editorial production: SAIRS Axis. The family owns the featured property; this is an AXIS-produced editorial, not an independent review.
Historic setting: Colombia Travel, “Cartagena de Indias”, the official destination resource. The heritage reference concerns Cartagena’s historic center, not an individual designation or a confirmed construction date for Casa Gil.
Eladio Gil and the India Catalina monument: Alcaldía Mayor de Cartagena de Indias, August 21, 2026. The city records the monument’s inauguration in 1974 and its authorship by Eladio Gil Zambrana. This does not establish Casa Gil as the place where the monument was made.
